A few minutes ago I dropped my wallet and I believe that a guy that was asking for money picked it up. I had everything in that wallet and I really need to put a block on my CREDIT and my security. I don' t really know what to do PLEASE help me......
There are several things you must do quickly.
- Call the police and file a report (Keep a copy of it.)
- Call Equifax (1-800-525-6285), Experian (1-888-397-3742) and Trans Union (1-800-680-7289) to get a security alert added to your credit report.
- For any stolen credit cards, call the credit card companies. (Phone numbers are on your credit card bills.)
- Change locks on your home if keys were taken.
- Report the loss to your bank if an ATM card or checks were stolen. (Get a new card and new PIN number.)
