TransUnion Wants to Warn You about Credit Repair Scams
Trans Union, one of the three nationwide credit reporting agencies, has issued a press release, Improving Your Credit Profile - What's Possible and What's Not. (Requires the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.)
According to an article about credit repair rip-offs, 15 to 20% of the disputes Trans Union receives are generated by credit repair outfits that flood the bureaus with unfounded or fraudulent claims.
Trans Union emphasizes that accurate information on your credit report cannot be removed by a so-called credit repair agency. If there are errors on your credit report, you can have them corrected yourself.
Here is the procedure for correcting credit report errors.
