As a service to banks and other financial institutions that must comply with the USA PATRIOT Act, the major credit bureaus Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion are now offering to check the U.S. Treasury Department OFAC list. (Office of Foreign Assets Control.) False-positives are to be expected, especially if your name is similar to someone on the list.
