Information that other people have posted about your family online — like birth dates and Social Security numbers presents an identity theft danger.
Contact the website owner and ask for it to be removed. In some cases, you may need to contact elected officials to get help removing the information. Also, order your credit report twice a year to watch for possible theft of your identity.
