Check your credit report before and after a divorce! While in the process of a divorce, you must pay close attention your credit and credit history. It is important to know which accounts are individual, and which are joint. For joint accounts, credit bureaus file the information reported by creditors in both names, and your original contracts with the creditors are legally binding, regardless of any court division of your finances.
