No double dipping for free credit reports For people on the West Coast, free credit reports under the new FACTA legislation will start December of 2004. (Others will have to wait until as late as September, 2005.)
What if your state already gives you the right to a free credit report each year? You can get it now, but
under the new federal law, you can't double-dip. You'll get one free report a year.
