Your rights if denied employment based on your credit report The Imperial Palace casino will pay $325,000 in civil penalties because it denied jobs to job applicants based on credit reports, without informing the prospective employees the reason they didn't get hired.

The job applicants signed a release allowing their credit reports to be pulled, but when they were not hired, the company failed to give them an adverse action notice indicating how to contact the credit bureau that was used, and their rights to a free credit report, as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA.)
